Anthony Williams 28 Day Healing Cleanse

Prior to 2015 I was cleansing or dieting quite often, always trying to lose weight, or make my body better so that I would feel better about myself. This in turn tied me in with my ego motive to “improve externally so I don’t have to look internally”. In being a spiritual psychotherapist for over 13 years now, I realize that this “dieting game” was the sneakiness of my ego trying to get me to do things for superficial reasons, which by-passed my deeper need for inner healing that remained unchecked when I focused only on my form. When I noticed I was doing this I stopped all dieting and cleansing for a long while, as I saw that I was sabotaging myself even before I started a cleanse. It was only when I stopped trying to “fix my body” when I was finally able to change my MIND about my body, and change the GOAL for my cleanse, which enabled me to change my experience (thus body). But was an inner shift I was really seeking for, and that inner shift extended to my form.

My thinking shifted from trying to ‘improve my body’ to ‘accepting my body’ as it was. I began to see my body as a vessel of communication, of love, of light… and this purpose has nothing to do with what it looks like. So I refused to judge my body, welcomed forgiveness onto my perception of my body and remained in the space of “I accept myself exactly as I am.” To be honest this was words at first. Quite empty in feeling or content. But the more I practice it, prayed about it and meditated on self acceptance, the more this space was filled with love for self and the more I could really truly look myself in the mirror and love my body as it was (instead of judging it because it was not what I thought it should be)

Now my goal is this: “To Love myself through the process of being Kind to my body by choosing to occasionally cleansing and consistently eat nourishing foods.” This new goal has allowed me to let go of the outcome “losing weight”, and focus on this cleanse being an act of love to myself.

Cleansing can be an act of Love, because sometimes, my body is screaming for it. It is asking for a reboot, a renewal and I must listen to those calls, but I must do so with love (for my good) instead of fear (against something I hate (like my body)).

And you know what happened, since my goal became Love, when and if I made a  mistake during the cleanse, I was more gentle and gracious with myself and jumped back on the cleanse train right away!! Versus do what I did before, which was beat myself up when I made a mistake and throw in the towel calling myself a failure.

I learned that setting the goal smaller, at first, also works. So the first time I did this cleanse it was 7 days. Then 10 days, then 20 days and now 28days. We must meet ourselves where we are and do what is doable for us.

How many days will you be doing this cleanse? What is YOUR goal? Let me know in the comments below or in our group Whole and Healthy Living 🙂

Introduction

In my opinion this is a cleanse for creating maximum change. If you are struggling physically, emotionally, mentally or with any ailments such as trying to heal a disease, bad cholesterol, high blood sugar or having weight issues, this is a cleanse that can really help. But as I mentioned before, get clear on your goal/why before you begin so its aligned with Love not fear. And seek support if you can. I am here if you need me in our Whole And Healthy Living Group on Facebook

In 2019 I won Anthony Williams books “Cleanse to Heal” and  “Medical Medium”. I was grateful, as the draw included thousands of people and me winning them must mean I am meant to do something with these books, as I had to answer the question, why should I win the books?  And part of my answer was so I could share them with and help you guys 🙂 So here I am!  Sharing what I have learned with you!

Medical Medium, is the book that I am referencing for this cleanse.  As well as Plants-heal.com for the ability to copy the cleanse instead of typing it up from Anthony’s book 🙂

It really truly is a cleanse though and meant to be temporary. I am a big advocate and believer in well-balanced meals on a daily and consistent basis.

This 28 day cleanse is based on a rich assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables for 28 days. This program maximizes the amount of nutrients in each meal, containing the highest level of bioavailable nutrients possible, providing every system and organ with what it needs to heal. If you don’t have access to organic food, no worries at all. Conventionally grown produce also provides the nutrients your body needs. I find I buy most of my veggies and fruit organic, but not all. You can research the “dirty dozen list” and learn more about it.

This program illuminates the body with life-energy and contributes to a renewal on every level. It does so because when our diet is composed of fresh produce we become alkaline (rather than acidic). This prevents the formation of plaque in the blood vessels, prevents kidney stones, builds stronger bones, reduces muscle wasting or spasms, accelerates the healing process, and much more. Fresh fruits and vegetables receive their nourishment from the soil, water and sun. When we eat these foods in their natural state, we ingest the healing energy of sunlight, purified water and nourishment from Mother Earth. Fresh food is alive and vibrates in synchronicity with its surroundings. When we eat more of these foods, our bodies align with the forces of nature.

This cleanse has a minimal amount of fats, and should be accompanied by lots and lots of energized water, shakes and drinks. For those who feel the food is bland, Himalayan salt can be used as needed. Let’s get started 🙂

The 28 day Healing Cleanse

**I recommend writing out this cleanse in your own hand writing and hang it in your kitchen to reference each day. Also think of the meals (salads and soups and fruits/veggies) you want to eat ahead of time so you are planned and prepared and take all the guess work out.

Early morning
It is best to start the day with a drink that optimizes the natural process of detoxification that occurs when you sleep by drinking a glass of warm water with lemon. 500ml to  1 liter.

About 30 minutes after the water aim to keep the cleanse going by drinking a
celery or cucumber juice, coconut water with spirulina and/or barley wheat grass juice powder. An herbal tea also works well.

Continue drinking hydrating beverages throughout the day to remedy any chronic dehydration that can slow down the detox process.

Breakfast
Breakfast is a mixed fruit salad (some flaxmeal is optional but excellent for added fiber and to feel fuller longer)
or smoothie composed of 3 bananas, 2 dates, and a cup of frozen berries. If you are still hungry an additional banana, papaya, pear or mango can be added. Another possibility is to add a handful of spinach, cilantro, or celery sticks to the smoothie – as long as fruit remains the main ingredient.

Mid-Morning Snack
This meal is similar to the breakfast or can even be a continuation of breakfast, just eaten a little bit later. Another suggestion is to drink the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie.
(Ingredients:
2 bananas
2 cups wild blueberries
1 cup cilantro
1 cup orange juice
1 tsp barley grass juice powder
1 tsp spirulina
1 small handful of Atlantic dulse
Optional: water to blend
Directions:
In a high speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. If a thinner consistency is desired, add up to 1 cup of water. )

Lunch
Lunch is generally a large green salad composed of fresh spinach and/or romaine lettuce, and cucumbers. Other options to add into the salad are cauliflower, arugula, kale, celery, peppers, broccoli, carrots (shredded or peeled) and sprouts. Any fruit or vegetable you want can be added to the salad – berries, mango, papaya, grapes, orange and/or grapefruit. If you want a salad dressing – blend half an avocado with some cilantro, orange juice, garlic and ginger. Or lemon with equal parts olive oil (drizzle of maple syrup adds to the deliciousness but not necessary…minced garlic and dijon is also excellent in this)—-> I make a big mason jar of this so I do not have to make it fresh everyday.

The trick here is to eat a really big salad. While the fruits and vegetables provide all the nutrients you need, they won’t supply the calories you need to keep you going. If you feel you need it, add some pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and/or goat or feta cheese.

Afternoon snack
The afternoon snack is generally another mixed fruit bowl, or any type of single fruit you want, combined with celery sticks (almond butter if needed, but not necessary) or pickled carrots or leafy greens to supply the mineral salts your body needs. Raw honey can also be used as a great pick-me–up, as is a herbal drink. Or a chia bowl (1-3 tbsp chia + 2/3 water + frozen dethawed berries with drizzled honey)

Dinner
For dinner a cold Spinach Soup can be made with cucumber “noodles” (Grated zucchini or spaghetti squash is harder to digest, and so should be integrated after the 28-Day Healing Cleanse). Dinner can also be similar to or the same as lunch. I also recommend Butternut Squash Soup, Celeriac + Apple Soup, Pumpkin Soup, Cabbage Soup, Bone broth with a large salad on the side.

Evening
If you are still hungry after dinner, you can snack on an apple and dates, as well as a cup of herbal tea.

Important things to remember:

  • Any fresh fruit or vegetable can be added to any of the meals.
  • I know it is easy to feel that doing a cleanse based on fresh fruits and vegetables isn’t healthy or is lacking in protein. When we feel physical symptoms like weakness and fatigue while following a raw food cleanse, we often assume this to be the result of not eating enough protein, when actually it is the result of not enough calories. When we move from a diet high in animal products, carbs, or processed food, to a plant based diet, we really should increase the volume of food eaten, but often times that does not happen. It is encourage in this cleanse, that you eat Fruits and vegetables all through out the day because they are lower in calories than animal products, so we need to eat a much larger volume of food in order to ingest enough calories.
  • In regards to any fears of not eating enough protein, every fruit, vegetable and leafy green contains bioavailable protein that the body can easily assimilate. If you add spirulina to your shakes, that has protein as well and so does chia.  Chia bowls with   1-3 tbsp chia + 2/3 water + dethawed berries and a drizzle of raw honey is an excellent snack. If you eat enough fruits and vegetables, you will get all the protein you need for this cleanse though. If you feel you need something more “substantial”, try adding a few nuts or coconut / nut butter to any of the meals (as I have suggested above for some meals.)
  • If you feel a need for cooked food, vegetable soup or steamed vegetables can be incorporated in any of the meals – just remember to add a handful of sprouts, leafy greens or raw celery to the meal to aid in digestion.
  • Flax meal  is great to add to fruit bowls to add fiber and the “fuller” feeling

Healing Suggestions:

  • It is possible to eat a meal composed of only one fruit. I naturally do this when I have papaya, watermelon, juicy cantelope. I cut them in half and eat them with a spoon. I also eat apples on their own alot. (try a few kinds of apples and figure out which one is your favorite. When you find the right one for you, its heavenly and desirable.)
  • Aloe Vera gel can be added to the smoothie, which is especially important if you are dealing with digestive issues or urinary infections.
  • If you have digestive issues, it is best to start the day with straight celery juice.
  • A great addition to any meal is mango salsa – mango, tomato, cucumber, cilantro and garlic, mixed together in a food processor.
  • To enhance detoxification, cut back on avocado and any other fat you may be eating for a week, and/or eliminate salt from the diet.

Transitioning
Often when changing from one diet to another, we find ourselves craving certain foods. It is helpful to remember that this diet lasts only 28 days, and that you can go back to whatever you miss soon enough. This diet creates a very intense detox which can awaken emotional issues, as well as physical sensations. I recommend doing this diet when you can take some time off, if needed, to give the body and soul time to adjust. As negativity leaves the body and digestive system, there’s more room for more positive emotions, energy and vitality. If you need support in any of this, reach out to me in my group or contact me and we can set up a time to chat.

After you’ve finished the 28 days, give yourself time to readjust to eating other things. I recommend that you start with some steamed vegetables with butter and pink salt and/or grains that are easy to digest like quinoa and brown rice. Some people will choose to continue but build upon the foundations of this cleanse, while others return to eating animal protein. We are different and diverse, and all have different food traditions and needs that deserve to be honored. Just remember to be gentle with your digestive system and liver, and to go easy on fat and processed foods. Perhaps even experiment with Intermittent Fasting as it can encourage gentleness and consistency in caring for oneself through food.

In conclusion
Take it one day at a time, and know that this is not about perfection, but doing your best. If you are consistent with it, and keep going with it, you will reach the end of this cleanse feeling filled with incredible vitality, energy and confidence that you can do anything you put your mind too. I believe in you. Be sure to use our group if  you have any questions or want support. Whole and Healthy Living.
